A sweeping view of Horizon Guest House from the Mauka (mountain) side of the property shows the guest wing and the large circle driveway. On the very end of the wing, (far left) is the fully equipped, combination laundry and utility room for guests. Of course, on the other side of the residence is the ocean, Makai side with the Infinity Edge pool, Ocean view, all of the Lanais and a 31 mile view of the Keauhou-Kona coastline.

"Thank you so much for creating this slice of heaven!

I've so enjoyed the week spent here with friends and family, as well as the new friends we've made.

I was mentioning to Terry tonight that it was going to be nice to return from a vacation actually feeling rested - Oh, and ten pounds heavier!!

We’re looking forward to coming back!" Collette, CA

Clem Talks About Breakfast & other Important Things

"Breakfast menus:

Always: Fresh fruit from the property [in season] such as oranges, limes, banana, mango, papaya, lychee, sapote, figs, homemade banana bread, scones, muffins of several variety
coffee/tea homemade whole grain wild rice cereal with roasted almonds, pecans, or walnuts, juice.

Various Main Courses:
Tropical Pancakes with lilikoi, maple or coconut syrup or homemade jams.
Portuguese Sweetbread French Toast
Smoked Salmon, cream cheese, bagels, capers, etc.
Scrambled Eggs with various sausages such as chicken apple frittatas or various kinds
quiches of various kinds
eggs Benedict of various kinds

Odds and ends such as Corn Pudding, Coffee Cakes made to suit the Chef's inclination.

The big thing with breakfast is that there is no particular time. I've served breakfast at 5 A.M. so guests could catch an early flight or event and as late as 11 A.M. for late night arrivals who wanted to sleep in. Individual allergies and food dislikes are always discussed with guests and breakfast altered to suit. There are five areas to sit for breakfast - no requirement to sit with other guests. Favorite is the table on the main lanai overlooking the ocean.

Guest have free use of the main house. I do a "walk-through" upon arrival to show them where everything is. After that they can help themselves to extra linens for the bed [such as feather pillows], towels for the pool and beach, snorkeling gear, coolers, ice packs, beach chairs.

We also have a BBQ set-up with a counter prep area, sink, dishes, etc. so that they can have a pool-side grill whenever the mood suits them. It's a favorite of guests who don't want to eat out every night. They get the main items, we have condiments such as butter, olive oil, mustard, etc. for their use. They do their own prep and cooking, we do the dishes.
